This entry is from Linc's dad Sam.
Grandmother and Grandpa got into town today. You wanna know the cool thing about grandparents? They bring presents and then take you shopping!
When we were unloading all of our goodies, the checkout girl asked Nico if he was spoiled. He replied without hesitation, "Yes! By my Grandpa, not my Grandmother." Meanwhile Grandmother was pulling out her Visa to buy him tons of toys while Grandpa was happily feeding Linc a bottle on a bench thirty feet away and laughing.
Funny. I don't remember Mary and Larry being this indulgent when I wanted a new car fifteen years ago!
Linc actually let Grandmother feed him (another first). He also got to show off his signing skills, quickly running through his repetoire. "Mamma, eat, more, all done, bye bye, my turn, milk, high five, low five, and 'dats (or terrorist fist-jab)." Playing a rousing game of 'roll the ball back and forth' with his aunt Wendi showed off his turn-taking ability. And, once we came back home, the boys drove around the backyard in the two-seater jeep their grandparents bought for them months ago, carefully avoiding the swing set/fort which their gradparents also recently bought for them.
Linc has an army of people helping him out in life. Some pray for him, others make him feel loved and welcomed in this world, some show him through therapy how to interact with his surroundings. All of these people are daily making a difference in Lincoln's experience. They make his life a little less difficult and a little more inviting.
But his family takes the cake!
-Sam
