About Me

I am just your average working stiff, trying to make ends meet and accomplish as much living, laughing, dancing, and singing as I can in the meantime. I love working in academia, though I don't have a PhD or get the summers off. I am the doting wife of a history buff named Sam, who helps out here with the blog from time to time. And by doting, I mean I hardly notice when he has mustard on his cheek. Or so he says. At any rate, I love him dearly and even sometimes pay attention to parts of his long stories about war and history. Our sons are Nico (soon to be 5) and Lincoln (who just turned 3 and has Down syndrome). We hope this blog will spread awareness about Down syndrome and show our friends, family, and anyone else who wanders by that although life with an extra chromosome can be hard, it is nonetheless a beautiful, joyful experience.
