Fall fell

Good golly, what started as a lazy Saturday has turned into a busy and crazy evening of child wrangling. What's funny is that I had planned on writing a post about Nico, inspired by Sam's post yesterday, but after his not so pleasant antics tonight, I think I will put that post off one more day. Maybe he will seem cute again tomorrow.

In other news, we got a lovely little bit of fall weather the past couple days, and I got to pull out the footed pajamas for Lincoln. There is nothing cuter than a baby in footed pajamas. I know he’s two now, and I really should stop calling him a baby. But he still seems very baby-like, and he’s likely (hopefully, fingers crossed!) our last baby, so I’m having trouble giving up calling him the baby. Anyway, we did a lot of cozy, cool weather rolling around and cuddling in our pj’s today.

It’s funny how much the weather dictates the nostalgic ties of the season. One nice crisp breeze, and I am ready for the long birthday/holiday season to begin. I start adding cinnamon to things and looking up recipes for chili and soup. We got the Halloween decorations out in the front yard a couple of days ago, but it wasn’t until tonight, coming home from the store, when I got to see the pumpkins perched out on the porch and feel a little thrill that fall is here. Don't tell anyone, but I have even found myself secretly checking the score on the Longhorn football games because now, after 4 fall seasons at UT, football is creeping in as one of those hallmarks of the season. Ah, fall. Welcome.
