Polka-Dot

I guess Linc is sick. He has kept us up the last several nights with a fever and an attitude to go along with it. Oddly, he seems fine during the day, and then is miserable all night long. I can't even imagine what could be affecting him at night but not during the day.

To make matters worse, every time Linc gets a fever, he also gets a rash. Of course, yesterday his rash showed up right when I was dropping him off at the nursery at church. It wasn't there when we left house, and by the time I was handing him off, there were red spots all over his face and abdomen. Even though I knew it wasn't contagious, I pulled him out of the nursery because I didn't want other parents to think we were bringing some leprous playmate in to infect their little ones.

Then, I started thinking that perhaps I should have payed more attention to the fact that he'd had a fever two nights in a row, which might have meant he had something other than the rash which have actually been contagious. So, much to Nico's chagrin, I dragged him out of his class, too, and headed home, where Linc played happily all day until it was time for bed. I hear the polka-dot prince is happily catching up on his sleep today, which doesn't do much to help his exhausted parents. He's still got the rash, and he's headed to the doctor in the morning just in case there's something wrong with him other than a desire to torture his parents with lack of sleep.
